OUR DESTINATION IS “SUSPENDED IN TIME”: Mackinac Island—voted one of the Top 10 Islands in the World by Condé Nast Traveler. Before we arrive in Michigan’s enchanting “Crown Jewel” we’ll see Chicago landmarks such as Michigan Avenue, the “Magnificent Mile,” the Lakefront and enjoy a walking tour through Millennium Park. Head to Holland, MI and the famous Tulip Time Festival where we’ll visit the Windmill Island Gardens. On Mackinac we’ll enjoy accommodations at the gracious Grand Hotel, a Victorian-era resort—named the Best Historic Hotel by USA Today! “You will never forget the spectacular views from a rocking chair overlooking the Straits of Mackinac from the world’s longest porch.” Horses, buggies and bicycles are the only transportation allowed on the island and we’ll set off on a scenic horse-drawn carriage tour and dinner at the elegant Salle á Manger. Enjoy an overnight in Frankenmuth—a quaint Bavarian village settled in 1845 and visits to one of America’s greatest historic destinations: 300 years of American life at Greenfield Village and the acclaimed Henry Ford Museum.
